Cottage cheese availability? was created by mbov10
Hi guys. I also love cottage cheese. Clovers sweet chilli flavour my favourite, but both Clover and Parmalat do not manufacture or supply cottage cheese in my region anymore. I stay in the Eastern Cape and work at a general grocery store. I deal with reps and suppliers daily. Both these suppliers told me that there is no demand for cottage cheese, thats why they discontinued the product.
Is this the case through the whole of S.A.?
DJeasy, I know you also love the stuff. What do you get?

i love the stuff, damn right,i might sound a bit strange but if i feel like something snacky i'll have a teaspoon of fat free plain cottage cheese,it really sounds weird but i like it...ummm i usually get the lancewood tubs of cottage cheese,i get it from the local pick and pay in durban north, not very difficult to come by... i am wondering if it would be possible to find a contact that supplies cottage cheese in bulk or in catering size portions? i mean i go through about 16-17 tubs in a month...

There is not a pick a pay within 300km from where I stay.
I'm sure if you go to your local shop (spar; pick a pay) and speak to the manager he will find out for you about the larger tubs. That is what I normaly do for my customers. I do stay in a very small town though. Cannot even buy supplements here.
Have to drive to East London or order over internet.

i have asked for bigger containers of the stuff at my local super markets and the people there look at me funny,i thought it was coz i hadnt shaved in 3 weeks but alas it was coz they thought i was quite mad asking for catering size portions of cottage cheese....improving your body is seemingly more and more difficult these days and getting more and more expensive to...just doing calculations last night and it cost about R2k just to feed me every month and that is with cheap supplements to... i mean 2kgs of whey and 1 packet of glutamine,1 x creatine 1 x bcaa and there u have R2000 with the other costing of food from the local pick'n pay...

Hi, One can get catering 4kg size feta cheese, but not cottage. Found out from local Parmalat rep. I also got some Lancewood cottage cheese. Get it at cost price, helps if you work at a supermarket:laugh:

My local PnP's also seemed to have discontinued clover and pamalat cottage cheese products a few weeks ago, but the Lancewood stuff's still on the shelves and just as good.
I only stated including cottage cheese into my diet 3 months ago an its now my fav snack. I usually have it with my protein before bed so that my hunger doesn't wake me up!
