'When the bodybuilders discontinued steroid use their kidney abnormalities improved, with the exception of one individual with advanced kidney disease who developed end-stage kidney failure and required dialysis. Also, one of the bodybuilders started taking steroids again and suffered a relapse of severe kidney dysfunction.

The researchers propose that extreme increases in muscle mass require the kidneys to increase their filtration rate, placing harmful levels of stress on these organs. It’s also likely that steroids have direct toxic effects on the kidneys. “Athletes who use anabolic steroids and the doctors caring for them need to be aware of the potentially serious risks to the kidney,” said Dr. Herlitz.

Leal Herlitz, MD (Columbia University Medical Center) and her colleagues said that bodybuilders and athletes making use of steroids on a long-term can experience development of protein leakage into the urine and severe reductions in kidney function.'

This is not uncommon. But cases are few and far between. The excessive amounts of protein and large doses of water also place alot of stress on the kidneys.

Extra muscle mass will place extra strain on all of your organs, not just your kidneys

Yeah bro, roids wil affect kidney function. I actually worry as my kidneys act up from time to time and I may be predisposed to kidney problems. Not hundred percent sure but don't go under 5L of water a day on cycle. And then there's that article about Marco Rossi on dialysis and waiting for a kidney transplant or he'll die...

Seriously worrying shit for all the crap we put in our bodies. Increased blood pressure on cycle can also damage kidneys and MUST be monitored! I find stimulants put my adrenal cortex under tremense pressure as well.

Be safe and always monitor your body for potential hazards! I'm going to go have a litre or water right now!

Sorry if I offend you
Its just my point of view
