Tap Water Quality?? was created by Fedsdead
Hey Guys and Girls,

As Bodybuilders or health concious individuals, I am sure we are all drinking the two to three litres of water we require everyday.

My question is, does anybody have any major concerns about drinking tap water in these quantities. I personally use a home tap filter but occasinally just fill up from the tap.

Anybody have any doubts about our water quality etc?

Cheers

Our water quality is one of the best, if not the best in the world. But with that said, our standards have dropped, in major cities the quality is rather poor. I myself drink plenty of tap water. This is a tricky one.

We do have the best water in the world... considering that we are a 3rd world country.
Durban has the best water in SA - Heard this from my girlfriends step father, who happens to work for Metro Water. So i trust his judgment.

But I'm sure drinking SA water is fine, providing it's not tasting or looking to funky!
Even if it comes out fizzy, that's just air bubbles that were trapped in the pipe maybe during maintenance checks. The mercy coloured water will become clear again after the oxygen in the water has dissipated after left alone for a minute or two.

Yeah its hard to say... I drink tap water myself but if it was more affordable I would love one of those higher end filter machines, especialy the type that changes the ph level of the water, for the health benefits it has...

I have osmosis filter at home for all drinking and cooking water. Normal filtered water at home.
I used to get all sorts of aches in my wrists etc, etc, etc. NO MORE.
I truly believe the water is crap and youre better off drinking filtered water.

No more floating particles in my whisky!

And for those who think borehole water is better , think again.

I got ours tested last year, and its more polluted that normal tap water.

I know in some area's where the water table get rather high during rainy season, there was a problem with grave yards around the area. They found traces of decaying matter from a result of this.

Scary !

I dont filter , but I am thinking I should invest in a proper unit soon

I live by the saying: out of sight and out of mind. In my line of business I get to experience every imaginable industry, from water, diary, bread and flour right through to platinum and uranium. And I can assure you that you'll never drink milk from Clover, eat bread from Sasko, Steers or Wimpy ever again if you've seen half the stuff I've seen. In my whole career so far I've only gone to one company where they make sweets and the hygienic standards are high. Any questions on any products that u use daily I will be able to answer questions on it.

The worst by far are bakeries. I've never been to a clean one. On every flour silo I've ever been there's been huge gerbils that nests up there. Coca-Cola plants are also very clean. Chicken farms are bad! The cleanest place I've ever seen (but its not food) was a company where they make CD's & DVD's and its also a very interesting process. I'll think of some more examples then I'll post.

I work in the food packaging industry .

I have seen some horrid stuff as well.

For that reason , I will only eat McCain .

No name brands and so on that I have seen packed
by certain companies are shocking. Worms seen it! Picking product off the floor and throwing it back into the bag ..Seen it ..Workers eating the product with their bare hands and some bits falling back into the process line.. ..seen it.

Rat head in the Chip packet .... seen it.. Rest of the body in a another... Seen it...

If you eat Woolworths food you fine , they very stricked with their suppliers..
