Have been doing some research as have family member diagnosed in December last year and it's too late to do anything now deterioration has been rapid and short term memory is completely gone not even ten second memory retention anymore.
I have spoken to a Dr who has done extensive research and he recommends LCHF diet as the brain is composed of 60%fat.
This family member never ate any saturated fat ie no butter no fat on meat sunflower oil only etc.
If anyone has any info to share please do so

Has your family member been put on Memantime or / and Donepezil?
I'm not being funny either but has the psychiatrist / neurologist looked at micro dosing of psilocybin? If you look at brain imagery it completely lights up the brain and may be an option if treated by the right psychiatrist.
A little bit if info below, but there is tons on the net. I know someone who is using this type of treatment for a number of mental health issues.

Didn't make any difference.
Deterioration has been rapid and behaviour is erratic and obsessive at times .
She fell last week and was taken to Dr muscles were in spasm voltaren and cortisone shot in.
Tramacet and arcoxia also prescribed.
I massaged 3 times a week and now sorted and pain free.
Should be in a care facility but is very stubborn and refuses.
Never exercised or drank alcohol or smoked.
Another family member has power of attorney to make decisions.
Has lost weight and I'm not sure if she forgets to eat or doesn't know how anymore.
I am checking on her mornings and evenings.
And it's very stressful on everybody.

I will look into the microdosing.
This is raising my cortisol levels tremendously and I'm trying to get my PT business up and running to make a profit.
At this stage I am barely covering my expenses.
I am constantly worrying that she falls again and breaks a hip or something and could be lying there for hours with no one knowing.

Maybe a psychiatrist if it's already diagnosed. They not scared to push the levels.

I'm sorry you going through this, its extremely unpleasant. So I would do as much research as I can on the matter and see what the specialists advise.

Nothing to heavy light weight and just going for a pump.
Have done some research and self analysis on myself since my childhood and had some Revelations it's personal story and I will share.
If you are interested.
Here goes.
Normal weight and build until puberty.
Then started gaining fat and pubertal gynocomastia low T and high estrogen.
Poor diet and only exercise was rugby at school.
Developed poor body image and did not know anything so left it alone.
Father passed away when I was 17 and didn't know how to handle the grief so self medicated with alcohol and drug use which became an addiction and led to years of heavy abuse.
Weed LSD Coke extacsy and binge drinking ie dozen beers and bottle of Jack Daniels .
This continued until I was 30 year's old until I saw myself one night over a heavy weekend of use.
I realised if I didn't stop I would be dead within a month.
Stopped cold turkey and had treatment for depression.
Was pumped full of anti,-depressants anti psychotics and mood stabilizers.
Was at this point morbidly obese and extremely unhealthy
Had lower back problems and no core strength.
Eventually had spinal fusion in 2011 L4 and S1
Rehab was extremely tough and was in ICU for about a week with high doses of morphine.
Could only stand or lie down for six weeks and part of the rehab was walking everyday about 5kms per day.
Finally recovered from that.
Had diverticulitis which was hereditary my Dad and brother had it too.
In 2012 my colon ruptured and 20 cms was removed and colostomy bag for four months.
About two weeks after surgery the wound got infected and developed sepsis so was opened up and cleaned out and wound was left open to close by itself my wife thank God cared for me but couldn't work for six months.
Lost my job house everything got into financial trouble and was sequestrated by choice.
Found another job as production planner but boss was an abusive alcoholic and company had a drinking culture.
Put up with verbal abuse for 5 years.
At this stage I was training for about 3 years hit and miss bro science was finally put onto Trt the training became my therapy and I weaned myself off all the psychiatric medications.
Was hooked on training and decided to study personal training.
I researched and did a few poorly designed cycles.
This forum guided me onto the right path and I am constantly researching.
Diet was good and I changed things up when I plateaued between low carb IMF carb cycling keto etc.
So went from 127 kg with 50%bf
To now 80kilos at 10%bf.
The last year was tough wasn't working and was caring for my Mom with Alzheimer's.
Eventually this week the decision was made that she needs to go into a care facility.
So this past week has been extremely stressful no eating or sleeping high cortisol levels and 2kgs dropped probably muscle mass.
I am mentally exhausted.
That's the story of my Life up till now.
This pic is about a month ago.

Things can change so quickly. One day they seemed fine, and the next time I see him he's asking the same questions over and over and forgetting what he's talking about halfway through a sentence. Then within a few months after that struggling to do basic things like get dressed properly. Painful to see.
It's a horrible guilt-ridden decision to make to put them to put them in a frail care home, but sadly it is the best thing to do. Just put her in the best place you can afford and get her on the right meds. Stay strong.

Sadly the family members health is taking its toll on you which is perfectly normal. The fact that you're caring speaks volumes for the type of person you are and just shows you are human.
I haven't dealt with alzheimers but earlier this year also had my own personal issues when my wife went into a stress clinic. It broke me! I personally found a lot of support come from this forum as it was sort of the only place I felt open and spoke honestly about how I felt. I feel as if that was the key to me getting through it. Also the guys along this forum are beyond amazing. It wasn't long before I realised that these are things that happen and a big part of getting through things is self care.
Now I'm not giving you ideas for self care as we're all different. But by the looks of things you're pretty much in control regardless of the stress you're going through. The only advice I can give is to not be hard on yourself and to not hold anything in. You'll soon find that it becomes easier when you hear others like muscle addict in this instance have gone through similar things.
You're still looking great and I'm sure you'll be fine. You're definitely in my thoughts and prayers Bro. Stay strong and just don't be too hard on yourself

I need some time to recover and get my mind sorted out.
There is a lot to do and will be asking advice as we go along.
The knowledge of members on this forum is widespread in all kind of areas and has been invaluable to me in my journey since going onto TRT.
I have learnt so much and most importantly how support is given in times of crisis.
I follow a few other forums but this one outweighs them all.
Big up to all the brothers in iron.
I have learnt how important it is to research constantly and keep educating yourself.
Evidence backed science over bro science.is the way to go.
