Tough time studying

So I have just started a correspondence course in health and safety and I’m having a tough time studying. I have done a few lil courses over the past years but nothing as hectic as this.
I eat pretty decent and do some cardio in the evening, however I feel so lethargic when I get home. I am motivated to study, however I struggle to stay awake and actually absorb what I’m reading.
So I want to find out if anyone has any advice? And if any brain foods or supplements actually help for concentration?
I can’t afford to mess this up so I’m willing to give pretty much anything a try.
any advice or tips will be greatly appreciated.

But if I recall 00pump used to take something for ADHD, but has a detrimental effect on the heart. I'm not hundred percent certain but that may be your best bet if you're hell bent on using something for that purpose.
Probably would be best to discus with a doctor and obtain these meds legally.
In my opinion try get more quality rest, stay calm and have some ambient noise in the background. If energy is really as bad as you say, bioplus sachet when you sit down to study...
When it hurts... That's when i start counting, because that's when it starts to count.

Go have a chat to a psychiatrist. There is many options available.. but I will say from a whole look at things, being rested is critical and so is eating well throughout the day..

My boy uses Concerta and its made the world of difference in his school work, his concentration levels are amazing at 27mg daily. Not sure what they would prescribe to an adult though. Another thing is its R600 per month for the 27mg tabs so expect a hefty price. Concerta is a schedule 6 so you also have to get a prescription monthly opposed to once every 6 months.

It takes a bit of time to work, not right off the cuff like concerta, the thing with strattera is the dose very much depends on your weight.
Concerta is great but comes with allot of side effects..

As I said it is a very effective drug.. The thing is strattera would not have been available when your kids where younger.
Also I wouldn't advise Concerta for a here and there use as its active for 12 hours, I'd rather use a fast acting ritalin (methylphenidate) which is the actual drug in both ritalin and Concerta..
The only difference between concerta and ritalin extended release in a very basic understanding is, one slowly comes out in a "tube" type of way and the other like onions where it peals off layers.
Again I would try Strattera first. The prices are pretty close.. and then if you looking for a 'boost' then maybe it's better to use a short acting version of the methylphenidate so it's out your system quickly if something goes wrong, like 160+ bpm which could be countered by a beta blocker.. anyway this is going way to deep and I don't want to discuss schedule 6 drugs anymore.. Ritalin / Concerta / methylphenidate are highly addictive, so rather go speak to a psychiatrist who can do a proper assessment, which is around 20+ pages and then a 2 hour consultation for him to assess you properly and go through a series of questions to evaluate if this is the best approach for you.

I use it in my exams only as days and days of studying can get to you.
Giving this to school children is bad news IMO, points go up but when these children reach university they struggle to concentrate and the dosage becomes even higher until you MUST take it everyday because you can't function without it. They become almost 'vegetable' like if I can put it that way. They loose all of their personality. So just be careful with this compound! DO NOT POST INFORMATION LIKE YOU HAVE HERE, WHICH I HAVE REMOVED

I do not believe GPs should be allowed to prescribe schedule 6 drugs.. doctors will refuse point blank to treat an addiction and you need to see a psychiatrist, yet they can prescribe the very drug that can cause an addiction.
Small one we try tend to provide "good advice" on the forum

Also agree on not believing in GP's. Like I said, it is to easy to get this drug.

My GP who would take a bullet for me told me straight up he will send me to the best psychiatrist and she will decide if Ritalin/Provigil/Adderall is the best way forward. He will not prescribe these drugs end of story.

And those are the doctors I respect the most.. it is the same as my GP, once it gets to things that relate to a specialised practice for a specific field, she calls them up, explains the situation and sends through my entire file

So far they have been less than helpful and don't see a need for them aside for referring patients to specialist, and writing scripts for anti biotics.
No offence to members that may be GPs

Hi.
I am not going to go into how bad concerta and ritalin is for anyone, but I will provide you with an alternative, should you be interseted

I do not work for Keenmind (In case anyone think I am endorsing), have just heard great things. It does take a while to work 100% though.

Thus you may have to try varying dosage and compounds available in SA to find a solution that works for you. Personally I found adderall more effective for my case relative to some of the other options however it is not available for prescription in SA.
I have also found the use of ALCAR and Choline supplement effective to relieve some of the challenges I have. I am away travelling and the latter supplements are all I am currently using at the moment. In my case all but one of conventional ADHD supplements adversely effected my libido. If you have some ALCAR and Choline lying around try the combo and let us know what results you experience after a day or two.

Woaw. I actually did courses just like this at my workplace, and for me it's mandatory (Danish & Singaporean accredited I believe). Pretty interesting, never considered working with HSE & RA. Mind me asking if you going into a risk management job sector? Or just improving credibility in your current occupation?

studies are going along, struggling abit as i don't have any previous knowledge of the industry, so basically everything is new to me.
was a lil apprehensive about using Concerta or Ritalin without first trying the other options.
just got myself a good multi vit ,some Vit B injections and just bought a bottle of Keenmind which 1 of the other members recommended. will start it tomorrow and update you guys once I've given it a awhile to get into my system
