Hey Gents

I don't use them but had to with my trapped nerve a couple of weeks back. I was just wondering as I've been told by more than one knowledgable person that while your using them they will prevent or at least impede muscle growth..? What are your thoughts and is there any science behind this?
I can't tell if they effected my growth as I had that stomach bug at the time and loosing weight was inevitable.

I'll ask my Mum once she's back from the World Cup her opinion but was wondering if anyone had looked into this before?

Doctari:

Growth and muscle gains are pro-inflammatory driven - hence the class of AAS drugs are pro-inflammatory. Thus, theoretically, anti-inflammatories will suppress muscle growth. To what degree, one should have to do wide litrature study to see what has been found in research studies on this subject.

Apparently long term use of opioid painkillers can also reduce testosterone levels www.painphysicianjournal.com/2012/july/2012;15;ES145-ES156.pdf
