2014 International Powerlifting Federation Raw World Champs - Is anybody going to watch this weekend? I would love to be there but I'm down at the coast. This is a huge event for South Africa to be hosting! If you can make it to Potch it will be worth the drive.

The men's 83KG juniors was impressive. 305Kg deadlift by Brett Gibbs at 82Kg body weight with a 770Kg total.

Ok, just so that im not getting this wrong, these 84kg women are squatting 160kg.... is this correct or am I misunderstanding something here?

The big guys at my gym ive seen squat only 110/120kg

Are those red plates 50kg each?

The guys in Potch this week are not the local guys at the gym Alex haha.
This is a world championship. Big difference.
Really impressive. Agree with MA on the 83kg juniors. Damn Brett Gibbs is a machine

Nate your so right, lifting weights for muscle and doing power-lifting
is two worlds.
Training is hard on the joints, it takes a lot of mental focus to get that weight moving.
If you take Oom Theuns Naude, lifting 215kg at age of 70, that takes big balls.
What makes it more impressive is that he had a lot of injuries, back, knees and he still
going big.
