How much truth is there in the statement, 'you have to keep confusing the muscle to get growth' ?
Surely muscle grows because of an overload put on them. Working the muscle to failure...
So why would one have to keep confusing the muscle if you keep working that muscle to failure it should grow?
Excuse my ignorance, but was just thinking about that...

Something I have also thought about ....if u keep adding weight to the bar and doing the same exercise u should still grow until u reach your genetic potential ...then u would need AAS and continue the same thing .....maybe some have a different opinion. I dont have body building genes and have over the past 12 years tried mixing and matching dieting but get the same small results
if any ....unless on AAS

To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

Its legs day, legs day, gotta get down on legs day.

I change rep ratios and may vary one or two exercises, but for the majority my training stays the same and I still grow. Having said that, training is too body specific to have one definite answer on the topic, do what works for you.
