Kill it with fire.

To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

I know it's not bodybuilding, but should be good for cardio and to get fit?

Certain aspects of crossfit, yes. However, there are just way too many contraindicated movements and exercises that they do for it to be good for your joints etc in the long term. Rather compound a nice lifting routine with some interesting HIIT fitness, your body will thank you.

There must be three other threads on this forum about crossfit, all of them drawing the same conclusions.

1) It may burn fat - but you will plateau in the strength department (perhaps also increase your endurance within the program)
2) You will increase cardio-vascular fitness - by using lighter weights than usual, CV fitnes can be improved with other HIRT or HIIT programs (not even mentioning regular cardio)
3) The speed and manner will lead to compromised form - thus injuries, either within a session or in the long term.

In conclusion, there are programs and regimes that can get you the same results or have the same goals as crossfit, without the risks and memberships.

But just my (recurring) 2c bro.
