I only fish socially now, did the whole league conventional carp fishing thing but the politics just got too bad.

My passion now lies with bass fishing!!
It's so tough balancing Gym, Bass Fishing and Golfing....

I know what you mean i also do golf fishing and gym and it gets a bit hectic but i enjoy it none the less. I started with bass fishing and then went over to conventional angeling my biggest bass was only around 2.5 to 2.8kg but it was a fight i will never forget ;)

O okay I see bro! Dagga salmon sounds like a high target to set for yourself. I also love me some deep sea fishing! Know a couple of guys that have their SA colours so it's a lot of fun to tag along with them and steal all the glory.

Cause I hate a Barbell (Catfish), they just creap me out....lol

I love any form of fishing actually.
Bass is one of your best fighting fish, pound for pound. With it being a predator fish, you are busy the entire time trying to get a hook-up.

Ja I've had carp fishing days where you dont sit still for a minute, but in general you're more 'active' with the bass.

It just switches me off totally, come back relaxed and recharged.

pound for pound bass are one of the strongest fighting fish in the world. awesome fun to catch. a lot of skill involved in getting the action of the lure right to attract the fish

Most anoying slogan: "Ek mag by die huis drink"

The drinking and fishing tag is one, the fisherman will never ever get rid of.

I really love fishing, spend my whole life on the salt. I have never been very good at fishing in fresh water but i still try, only ever caught a 3kg carp in rietvallei dam, its a very difficult dam to fish but it has some monsters!

Im more of a salt water fisherman, have had 3 boats in my life so I have spent thousands of hours on the water teaching myself. My dad was the type of dad that believed he was giving us love by buying us stuff so I was always alone as a child and when he bought me a boat he showed me how to turn it on and said see me later.

Up to today, I have had a few good successes, with 2 black muscle cracker of 12kg and 16kg, biggest Kob was 20kg, a honey comb ray of 17kg, spotted grunter of 6kg, geelback of 9kg, ragged tooth shark of 99kg, hammerhead of 25kg, king fish of 19kg and lost a daga kob of atleast 50kg right next to the boat because I didnt have a gaf.

LOVE FISHING

While growing up i use to go to Hentiesbaai every year with my dad and his buddies. We were about 5 families going for 2 weeks every year. Those were great times. That was actually fishing and not "hengel". No border controle either so you could bring back as much as you wanted. One of the friends had a small airplane so if fish became too many he would fly some out so the rest would fit in the trailers.

Great times!
