EFC 14

Any MMA fans cruising out there. EFC 14 tonight is looking good, great hype going on. Any picks for the evening fights?

what times it on mate? is it on ESPN?

No the live TV version is only on etv from 10:30 I think. But thats only the last 3 or 4 main card fights. The whole thing can be bought live stream from the website or you can catch it at the Nu Metro cinema's if you can't make the event at Carnival City in Jhb.

Its going to be a really good event, some great fights coming up. Check out www.efcafrica.com . It's their 14th event and the quality is really good.

Me too, but live is difficult for me, I'm not in Jhb but we try travel up often.

That whole EFC 15 card looks good, martin and Dino's an instant classic and Chef vs Joubert is going to be war! I see Tyron and DD have been giving each other a lot of stick on twitter so I'm looking forward to that.

I train and compete amateur as well. Working on my jits now, would like to get my blue belt at some stage.

That kruger vs vapi fight is going to be great. I called Vapi but Kruger has knocked him out twice before in K1 so think i will be eating my words. When Kruger gets going he's a monster.

Im really looking forward to Danies fight. I was speaking to one of his trainers today and he reckons he's looking unbeatable right now. Enjoy the fights bud.

@Chapel. Its a difficult one Gareth has got great skill and he's going to be hungry. I called Gareth to win but Danies trainer reckons no way. Let's see, either way its going to be war, those two do not like each other.

Na Gareth is going to be way too hungry coming off that loss, Danie is going to be sleeping.. (I'm biased, I can't give an accurate assessment hahaha)

I sparred against JP before, he is fcuken hard and in stand up, I would get beaten over and over.
Now I see he has got some mad skills on the ground as well, which I've never seen.

Regards to Gareth, what a nice & humble guy, met him once. Also an animal, and Danie would really need to come with some magic to beat him.

You right about Gareth. He's a genuinely nice guy. But then again the same can be said for the majority of these guys i've met.

Ja Danie just didnt have an answer for him. He looked much better than against Jeremy. Have to say though that I think the winner between DD and rightford should get the title shot. Dont think thats going to happen though.

How good was Costa and Speechly's fight. Holy crap these guys are high quality talent.

Solider boy gave him horns and he was a good 4kgs heavier at weigh in! The hawkey fight was a nail biter but in the end he just got beaten...if it went the full 5 rounds he would've won but je got wittled down and wittled down and then got taken when he made an error just like the burskei boy who was the clear winner in the firsr 2 rounds,got careless and went down...

Thats the thing with MMA hey. You can dominate all through and a small mistake costs you the fight. Its even worse at the pro level, they ciapitalise on the smallest mistake, which is pretty freakin tough to do while someone is punching you in the face.

The thing is busy with a ground and pound you're landing 1 out of 6 shots to the face that's taking effect nut to launch those 6 shots eats into your fatigue level so quick so getting more exhausted the the chap getting that beating and when turnover comes he took shots but his turn now aNd your shit tired
What clubs do you guys fight for?
I'm at Warior sports florida. Want to get into fight fit but its a bit far and my schedule won't allow it
As well my Sensei is my uncle lol so fight for free and get personal lessons since I was 16

But to make it big you have to be within a well known club

I always miss the good conversations damnip. Demarte trained to counter Wesley's kimura specifically, trained like 2 hours a day just round that plan. He just waited for the right time to take his back to prevent mistakes since if you screw up going for the back you end up in a very bad position but Wesley was more dominant. If it went the full 5 rounds Hawkey would've won. Excellent fight though from both sides though. Enjoyed when Wesley slipped Demarte gave him a high 5 lol
