21 day fast was created by gab

hi guys.

a good frend of mine my gym byddy is going onto a 21 day fast no food. water only. quite a religous person. he wont be doing any exersize. in this time.

my question: what can he take to keep cortizol levels down or wont it be an issue. can he take any meds for that or not while fasting. reason he is asking is that he doesnt want to pick up fat after the fast. what should he be eating after the fast.

any inputt welcome. dj i know you have some experiance with this, your input will be valued.

Tell him to google intermittent fasting, or check out leangains.com. It works. I have followed it before without losing muscle, and that is with a 16 hour fast every day.

When I don't eat for more than 3 hours I break out in sarcasm! So I don't even wanna know what would happen in 21 days... :whistle:

He is not eating for 21 days straight or will be fasting for a specific period over a 21 day period?

If he's crazy enough to go without ANY food for 21 days then he is probably already beyond any help. :rolleyes: That is not fasting. That is starving.

That is true; i think if you are committing to such an undertaking that considerations for your physique should not be an issue. Quick question, has he fasted for such a duration before as 21 days is one hell of a long time!!!

Is your friend named "David Blaine" by any chance? Maybe he should try taking a fatburner to help him get through the cravings but other than that not sure what else he can take for such a short period of time. wrt to gaining weight after the fasting he should start off on very low calories and work his way back to maintenance just like they do with malnourished kids

He has to be careful of over eating when he finally does eat again. It has been recorded where people who have been lost and haven't eaten for awhile then get found and literally eat them selves to death. (stomach explodes)

Don't think he will make 21 days though.

My friends brother who is a pastor made. Its about your faith gentleman. Christ fasted for 40 days so if this man has his eyes on God and I'm sure he does, I believe that he can and will do it.

the guys did 3 40day fasts before and a couple of 21 days no problem. i know it is a shock to your body and i discussed the cortizol thing whith him. so he asked me what he can take. but ja. 21 days wont be an issue for him.
