First off...hello. Been a pleasure being a lurker on this forum reading and learning about cycles and training techniques. And it's an SA site which is better.
My question.
I read constantly about egg whites being included in breakfast for the protein part of the meal and this has always had me wondering...is this egg white liquid after being seperated, egg white protein supplement powder etc. ?
I anyone here can answer me that one silly simple question...I would greatly appreciate it.

It has about 6 grams of protein per egg and no fat or carbs so it is common in breakfasts for those looking for a pure protein source.
You can also buy egg whites in a carton if you don't like separating your eggs
Hope this helps

Thank you for the reply LXIX. I do understand the nutrisional breakdown, my root question however is whether to use an egg protein supplement or do the effort and seperate real eggs.
Are you advocating using real eggs and seperating the whites from the yolk? I understand that whole foods always trump a supplement - reason why it is called a supplement is by it's very definition to assist or help afterall. I would however find it much easier and convenient to buy egg white protein powder and use that rather than Whey for my breakfast protein portion.
All members here in favour of using "real" whites over a supplement or do you use a supplement?

You can buy a powder version and there are egg white protein shakes but they are not very common.
Most guys stick to whey / casein for their shakes and I would agree that it would be preferable to stick to the real food version where possible.

I think what Bandit is trying to say without sugar coating it is that because you are new to this forum and this amazing new world, perhaps it is better to listen and learn than to comment. Remember- "A closed mouth gathers no feet."

Thanks for the post Mike123. I guess whole food trumps a supplement shake. Will adjust and see how I feel with eating solid protein instead of a shake in the morning.
Thanks!

Currently I do a whey shake for breakfast along with oats and flaxseed oil etc because it is damn convenient.
Considering that a large egg contains 6g of protein - of which about 3 is IN the yolk...You need to chow a damn lot of egg whites to get the same protein uptake.

Agreed. I try my best to keep my whey shakes to 2 - breakfast and post workout. Only when I am out and about and at clients do I have one extra shake for mid morning.
@SV - those are a lot of eggs...that the breakfast run each morning?

To give you an idea of my diet I have 4 shakes a day- One that replaces protein in a meal, one Pre-workout and one intra-workout both without protein, and one before bed.
