Fish Cooking Ideas

I got 2kgs of hake fillets yesterday which I pan-fried, and now there's a disgusting clear fishy mucous goo that's formed at the bottom of the fillets. Got the hake as an alternative to chicken until Sunday.
I was hoping for some suggestions on tasty ways of cooking the fillets. I'm thinking that next time I'm gonna roll the 250g fillets into fish cakes as it'll be much easier to prepare and store. That'll also be easy to make exactly 250g servings for each meal.
Any other suggestions would really be appreciated.

Greg, I hope you're entering Masterchef SA next year, haha. Thanks so much bud.
Feathers I think that'll be a great idea, it should also help to keep the cakes from falling apart (hopefully).
INCUBUS, had no idea they had potato in them to be honest, haha. I was thinking of rather making solid fish cakes and then eating my carbs separately, but that's a great idea for when I get bored, thanks mate.

Would love to do that Feathers, but I don't have one unfortunately... Maybe a future investment haha.
Haha no problem Gambit, thank Masterchef for his cooking ideas! I know the feeling though, about to have another fillet and I'm dreading it.
For the fish cakes, I'm planning on taking all the fillets (skinless), mashing them up in a bowl, adding pepper and lemon with 1 egg (to keep them from falling apart) and some coriander. Mash that together, roll them into 8 even cakes (=250g each if you buy 2kgs of hake at a time), then take a plate and sprinkle some breadcrumbs on the plate and roll the cakes in the breadcrumbs. Then pan-fry them with some olive oil.

Thanks again!
