is it bad? i'm talking about the unsalted plain peanut butter Ondier sells.
I've been bringing some to work in a little tub to put on the toasted wholewheat bread i have daily at work and most times i sit deep in thought, with a spoon eating the peanut butter and next thing you know, oops, the tub is empty... Now i cant help that its so tasty...lol.. do i need to learn to control myself or should i just leave the peanut butter at home or rather can i still have a tub daily..lol

hahaha, i have a similar problem, except mine is for the bedtime meal. i think you should be cautious if you are on a strict cutting diet, as 20g has appr. 110cal

pain is just temporary...

hmm well i'm not exactly on a strict diet. I am trying to bulk up (lean bulk) but have not been eating well this week.. Stopped my cycle and flu symptoms and had a bad case of tren cough and that through the appetite out. been training everyday but today and weekends. but ja, enough about me, back to the p/butter..lol
so you can i can get my proper cal intake just with this, lol.

A bit off topic, but whats the deal with peanut butter in a PWO? A lot of guys are doing this and I don't see a logical reason. Surely fast digesting carbs are a better addition.

very much so furk, insulin and fats arent the best combination, so fast acting protein and carbs post work out, no fats 1-2 hours before/after fast acting carbs

@DJ: Ah-ha, my sentiment exactly, IMO you ruin a good PWO drink with peanut butter.

@gorilla: Why bro? Fructose isn't so effective at refilling glycogen stores and makes you crash earlier than other choices. My 2 cents, if you want some fruit pre-workout, combine it with a complex carb for better released energy.

@furk: Been doing it since forever - dont crash or anything, all im worried about is maximizing my gaining potential, will def take your advice. I do either that or oats+honey+raisins+fat free milk, but since its getting hotter my appetite is going down and im not lus for oats...especially not in the midday.

Lets go!

No crash, that is fantastic man, I wish my body could run on fruit. That's why it's my personal enemy, because it's so f***ing delicious I wouldn't be able to stop! lol. But seriously, glucose polymers and complex carbs work well for me (I honestly can't function on fructose), what about grinding some raw oats and adding game powder and skim milk and then you have something like a milkshake? I might even try that after my cut...

@gorilla: Haha, no worries man, will probably be a good idea to add some whey (unflavoured maybe) to that.

I personally love the taste of PB but cannot get it down in its raw form. Anyway, i love the type of energy i get from PB it sustains me for a good 3 hours after. I take about 30g with 60g Whey and it really works for me.

Thing is since peanut butter is a fat, it will slow down digestion. This is to be avoided in a PWO drink cause you want the protein to be digested and absorbed as quickly as possible, that's why I don't get it when people recommend peanut butter it for a post workout drink. Not sure what the other components of the shake are, and I'm sure it's good and gives good energy, but fats are not desirable for PWO drinks.
