Bad Skin from Whey Protein was created by SuThy
hey guys.
I notice that when I swap whey out for another protein source (except for postworkout) my skin usually clears up a lot.
is it common to get bad skin from whey protein?
I am getting a lot of acne on my back and shoulders as well as even on my arms.
anyone have any solutions to this problem other than dropping my in-between-meal shakes?
thanks

Howzit bro. Are you sure you're not allergic to anything in the whey? Does it contain any artificial sweeteners? For some people that causes break outs. List the ingredients on the back of the tub

well everything in it seems normal. there's a blend of whey concentrate and whey isolate... and then well, then you get the "other ingredients": lecithin, creamer, permitted flavourants and colourants, sodium cyclamate, acesulfame k, sodium saccharin, colloidal silicon dioxide, xantham gum, sodium chloride (salt. lol).
so possibly the sweeteners in there?
as far as I know I have no allergies.

yeah bro sodium cyclamate, acesulfame k and sodium saccharin are all artificial sweeteners. what whey are you using? maybe get some raw whey and see how that goes

yep, those are the sweeteners in there.
I'm using evox 100% whey.
I'm gonna go read Ondier's thread and see if his whey works out cheaper, that stuff is raw right?
just wondering here, staying away from diet cooldrinks would be a good idea too then?

The human skin is a very complex thing and a breakout could be cause by any one of a million variables. If you were allergic to whey you would break out in hives, not zits. You would also feel quite tired all the time if you continue use of something you are allergic to. Before you can say that the problem is the whey, first ask the basic questions! Like:
Do you drink enough water per day?
Do you drink coke?
Do you swim in chlorine water?
Is your diet clean or do you eat junk food often?
Are there any new medications you introduced recently?
I mean really there are so many things it's very hard to pinpoint. What you need to concern yourself with is trying to figure out exactly what you have introduced your body to which was not there before. And then you can go through a process of elimination.

I drink 500mls of water every time I eat which is 7-9 times a day and thena t gym I drink about 2 litres
I NEVER drink coke
It's winter and I don't swim at gym either
I eat junk food once a week for cheat meal
no medications

but with all that in mind, I don't think I'm allergic to whey, is it possible that a high protein intake alone could cause bad skin? or maybe it IS the sweeteners.
If I'm honest, I don't eat as much veg as I should, I'm gonna introduce veg to all solid meals from now on and see how it goes, if my skin doesn't clear I'll come back for more advice.
thanks guys :)
