Fat in food ≠ Fat in body. was created by Bails
Dont know if any one has heard of it, but there was that dietitian/nutritionist guy, Tim Noakes, on Carte Blanche.he was promoting a low carbs, high fat eating plan. He made a comment that low fat products can be worse than the full fat options. That for dairy product like milk, cheese, yogurt you should rather take the full fat options instead of fat free or low fat.

Struggling to wrap my head around this and not about to try start eating fatty cheeses and drinking full cream milk etc. the rest of his diet is pretty striaght forward and generic.

Does anyone else ignore the fat content or have any news on results of this diet?

well it all comes down to the good fat vs the bad fat again, stay away from the bad and stick to the extra virging olive oil, natural peanutbutter, avo's etc

..."nuts"... haha I get my protein and fat from that too :P

yeah I'm pretty good at not drinking milk and not a fan of yogurt and cheese, just fat free cottage cheese though, every day... trying to figure out if i should rather take the full fat option now if it'd be healthier and more beneficial?

He is saying that people should be having full fat dairy products though... that's what confuses me...

if you're doing a low carb diet high fat isnt really a problem. mixing carbs and fats together will make you pick up weight. so when we bulking and eating carbs we try and stay away from fat like that and as byron stated get them from other sources

I didn't understand the logic behind Tim Noakes saying to eat low carbs and then showing an apple with a fat + protein meal as an example. surely that apple is a sugary, high carb food that will be terrible for those wanting to lose fat?

Personally I eat high fats with a lot of my food, be it dairy or meats. I like good fats but saturated fats are also fine to eat. I probably eat a pack of bacon a day, at least 6 whole eggs and half a kilo of red meat. Works for me fine when eaten at the right times.

What you have to look at with a lot of "low fat" or "fat free" produce is there was fat there before, what have they replaced that fat with to keep the consistency edible.

A lot of times it's replaced with fillers, additives and often more sugar. So yes it's now fat free, but they've loaded it with shitty carbs.

At least with a lot of full fat options you're getting the product as it was intended.
