Blunt needles was created by Bandit
Quite upset that I could not inject this morning as ALL 6 23g needles I had left were blunt. First time I have experienced this. What are the chances? I now have 6 blood spots on my ass where I tried to pin. Wtf.

Yeah man. I make sure I pin 5:30am in the mornings. Now I can only pin tonight when I get home at 8pm. Hope it doesn't make too much of a difference.

Honestly cannot say bud, all depends on what you using. Always best to keep it around the same time. On the pinning, what helps for me,esp with the thicker needles, is as you press the needle onto your skin,spin/roll the syringe so the needle kinda drills into your flesh.(pushing and spinning all in one swift movement). It helps especially when you get these not so sharp needles.

what you pinning? how are you pinning? are you pushing it against your skin slowly inserting the needle?? try flicking your wrist (almost like throwing a dart) ive never had a problem pinning that way

Yeah same, i tap the syringe while going in a little at a time until you feel it. Hit muscle, aspirate then begin injecting:)

Just stick it in! Eish. Scar tissue etc sometimes makes it hard and not all needles are that sharp - especially the lower gauges.

Wtf, even a blunt 23G needle should be bareable. Very odd, what brand is printed on the needles packaging?

'Terumo' printed on the back. I never have a problem injecting. I know I'm not doing anything wrong. Find it od that ALL six were like that. Even if I 'hammer' the needle in it just pierces the skin.

Quick update, bought new 23g needles. Pinned quads no problem. Must have been a bad batch?

A couple of hours will make no difference. I also find some needles sharper than others and as JR mentioned already scar tissue can also make it harder to penetrate the muscle.

what i have found is that its harder to penetrate the skin than the muscle. i found that if it is a bit colder the needle goes in more difficult so what i do i take a shower in the morning and then just pin straight after and it seems to be easyer even when i do find a somewhat of a blunt needle.

eh, water bacteria and soap and stuff.. I'd rather do it where I can see everything and I know its as sterile as it can get, even though I doubt the small hole will be a problem, not doing it in a shower would give me peace of mind ha ha..
