Training and Alcohol was created by iMan
Hey guys

I am currently a student so alcohol is sort of in my nature. I don't drink much, say once every 2-3 weeks. I believe that quite little for a student. Anyways I just want to know what the best thing to do before drinking and after drinking (before bed) to help me with muscle loss etc. I know theres not much a person can do, but hopefully one of you know what can be done? I drink whiskey with water and ice.

Thanks

Best thing to do before drinking is to decide to not drink in the first place. Or just make peace with the fact that ur going to go into a catabolic state. Lol

well we know its detrimental to ones training and diet , but i personally would sugget a protien shake with a tablespoon or so olive oil before going out, as well as plenty water before during and after, when you get home have another protien shake.next morning grab some rehydrate to replace electrolytes etc.

continue to drink as much water as possible to flush it out. and stick to your eating plan 100%

shit why mission and take all these preventitive measures just to drink alcohol,if it that important for you to get wasted it would be easier to just come to terms with the fact that you probably gonna end up with skinny arms and a pot belly and just enjoy your party,,i dont drink at all, fuck up is when i go to a club i drink a red bull and then a water and im always with a bunch of crazy mates so everytime they buy a round of booze i either get a redbull or bottle of water, after 8 redbulls and like 6 bottles of water i am in the bathroom pissing every 5 minutes, this chick i was gaming on saturday honestly thought i had a heavy coke problem and that i was shnarfing lines every 5 minutes in the bathroom

LOL, I agree with you chemically enhanced, BB is a lifestyle if you going to drink and wanna get pissed every month your lifestyle is not healthy, and you will not get the results you are looking for in your training, if you wanna be big, hard, ripped you going to have to give up a lot of things MONEY for starters, time, lifestyle, things you will never get back but if it is worth it to you pursue it.
I go all or nothing and n ow im getting the results I always wanted.

Something I came across the other day is that your body cant convert glycogen to glucose in the liver while metabolising alcohol so it might be a good idea to have some form of carbs before bed to prevent your body from going hypoglycemic while you're asleep

I stumbled upon this www.teenbodybuilding.com/bigalcohol.htm
(Please note this article is the author's opinion and I merely posted it because he gives some good science and a few valid prevention tips)
Also use the search function because this has been discussed before and I gave some personal advice there..
