blood when aspirating was created by ice-rip
so this morning when i aspirate i get one or two drops of blood. So i pull out change needle and start over. No blood this time so i pin. The first time though when i pulled out the blood came pouring out of my right glute. Isnt it difficult to hit a vein in the glutd and how much must you aspirate meaning how far back do you pull the plunger. Also if you get blood then when you re pin do you use the same syringe with blood and all

Ice-rip you did the right thing by changing the injection site. The problem with aspirating blood is, that we are mostly concerned about giving the kinds of meds we use intraveously ( IVI ),which of cause is a big no-no.
Administring AAS ivi could result in massive cardiovcascular collapse or severe anaphalaxis possibly resulting in death.

Also note that the gluteals are large muscles consisting of a large vascular bed and they do contain a fair amount of arteries, veins and capillary network. Therefore like any part of our body if we lacerate or cut it,it will bleed.

No problems should be encontered when using the same needle( might just be blunted a little bit ) with the blood in it/even if the drug is mixed with your blood - provided it is you own of cause.

Ice rip referred to blood in the syringe and Ontong replied with blood in the needle.

So which one is it now? If its the syringe I'd die to knw how the hell u managed to get blood into it???

About the needle....yes you can use it again but I wouldn't. I find that it most definitely gets blunter and results in a painfull injection and injection site.

ok so worst case scenario being death if you inject in a vein. How long do you reckon it takes before you know you in the kak

Even then it should be fine, provided it is your own blood. Just make sure you pin soon after this happens and that you don't wait for the blood to coagulate in the syringe.

As long as u pin in the top outside quarter of the glute u will be fine. Don't stress mate. Try delts next time, I guarantee painless pinning there.

Just really curious about how u manage to get blood inside the syringe?? Do you pull the plunger back when the needle is already in before u push it in?

Thats called aspirating. You had better start doing it as well. How do you know when you are sitting smack bang in the middle of a vein if you dont pull back on the plunger?

Here is something interesting i found when i injected into a vein many moons ago:

Q: After injecting 4ccs of EQ the other day I had a very weird reaction. I got light headed and started coughing violently. It lasted for a couple of minutes. The whole time I was lying on the couch, nonstop hacking away. I thought I was going to die. Do you know what happened? I've used half a bottle of that stuff already. Could it have gone bad? Could I have died?

A: What you describe sounds like a relative rare complication with oil depot injections called a pulmonary oil microembolism (POME). The occurs when a large volume of injected oil is picked up by regional lymph nodes, overriding their capacity to drain into the thoracic duct.

What actually happens is some amount of oil is carried into the lungs, causing a violent reaction (a "coughing fit" like you described). The exact cause in your case is a little hard to say, but perhaps it was due to frequent use of high volumes of oil. You mention you were injection 4ccs of EQ at one time. If you have been using one of those 50mg/ml 50-100ml jugs of EQ, I might guess that you have been taking large injections for a while now; maybe just too much in one spot.

It is understood that the threshold for POME is reduced with frequent repeated injections, as the local tissue becomes more saturated with oil. Or on a similar note, perhaps the oil was accidentally injected into a blood vessel. Oil carried into circulation (as when it is injected intravenously) is another was to trigger a pulmonary oil microembolism. This is actually done for certain diagnostic tests, in which a contrast oil (maybe 6-8ml of it) is injected directly into a vein. The oil is used to aid the photography of certain lung tissues.

POME, if indeed that is what you have described, is a serious reaction to injectable medication, but rarely a life threatening one. That should really only be the case if a very large dose of oil were deliberately given. Death from even IV injected oil is not easy to produce and is caused by administrating so much that the cardiovascular system becomes clogged. In rabbits, for example, acute toxity studies have determined that the lethal dose (LD50) for intravenous infusion of sesame oil was 0.74ml/kg of bodyweight. If those numbers translated perfectly to humans, that would be over 70ml of oil injected directly into a vein to kill a 220 lbs adult male. Not saying you should take these numbers to heart (please don't try this at home), but they illustrate that "death from bad injection" is not a major risk for the bodybuilder.

Lol eks afrikaans man, sorry.

But then why do u aspirate? I have never done that. I have only seen this with doctors etc with iv injections. Or am I missing something here?

You dont want to inject into a vein or capilliary. Its really not a nice experience. And the more you inject the closer you are getting to doing it.

When you aspirate and draw blood you know you are in a spot you are not supposed to be. You are supposed to pull out and chuck the whole lot.

I have had a serious amount of blood in the syringe before, and at the cost of Primo where it is its not all that easy to throw the lot out.

The blood normally floats so i just blow it out the top and reload a new needle.
I have also just left a drop or two and injected it into a new site.

Not correct protocol but what the hell.

then thank goodness that you have never hit a vein. Make sure you do it next time. Jr why is it not ok to use the same shot. I mean its your own blood

Its such a small amount but i am sure it clots. Surely that cant be good. Your body has to break it down again etc.
All the material you will find on the subject will tell you to abort and start fresh.

As far as I know, all that it will cause is a bruise. A little residual blood won't do much harm.

There's two reasons not to inject into a blood vessel: firstly, large particles and impurities can kill your heart, and secondly, all of the compound you inject will be available to your system immediately, rather than being processed gradually.

As far as i know it takes time for an Ester to be broken down. Its not as if its esterless suspension.
I also cant see how the effect is any different to the usual/normal Depot except that a depot releases gradually to your liver where it is broken down.

I was talking generally, as in injection protocol. If the impurities and oil does not stop your heart, I guess the bulk of the injection would either pass through your system unprocessed, or in such a high quantity that it would be a waste. I'm not a medical graduate, so obviously this is only speculation.

Are you saying it's fine to pin intravenously?

blood floats? I thought oil floats on water..
Anyway, if you aspirate and draw blood, why not just turn the syringe (whichever way up or down) and squirt out the blood, btw, if you get a cut or a massive bruise, your body is quite able to process the blood between the tissue (which is found naturally in your body ;) ), think about it, now you are injecting foreign oil in your tissue, but you are afraid of a little blood in the syringe... Hmm.
What do you guys think?

When you pull back the plunger in the syringe to check if you are injecting into a vein you get blood or dont get blood in the syringe... :) If you get blood it is not good. It can happen that you pull out to inject in a new site and aspirate again and find blood, well then you are looking like a dart board but at least your risk of cardio arrest or Pericardites is is lot less. (Well none)
