I agree with what you're saying.
I said earlier to the OP its going to be tricky trying to do both at the same time.

I meant to ask, do you think its possible, by cycling carbs, to still have a decent training session(not compromised much) and lose weight by keeping weekly cals low.

Sure, I just wouldn't call it carb cycling. Just a good quality low carb diet using adequate low GI carb sources in the pre-training meal to help fuel the workout.

Sorry if I offend you

Cool. I see your point.
High/higher carbs on training days and,
low carbs on non-training days, = carb cycling(to me anyways) :) (maybe not typical BB type cycling though)

Heck I guess you can call any BB diet a carb cycling diet. If you cycling in 24hours, 7days, or 6months. ;)

i am sorry to say nuidbranch that your body has gone into starvation. thats caused from low calories for too long a period,u look like u are eating 1000 calories a day roughly and your body needs about 2000(this is just average) calories to maintain body weight... now after a while the body notices that u are starving it of food and there fore shuts down any futher fat loss as a result, kind've like its in survival mode, think of it this way,if u are going to walk across the kalahari and you run out of food 10days into the 50 day walk whats gonna happen? your body is going to shit down its metabolism to make sure it survives from the lack of calories. it will start to feed gradually on the stored fuel (body fat) but it will also degrade your lean muscle mass...now muscle mass is very important for burning fat... the more muscle mass u have the more fat u burn...its like driving a 1.4l car and driving a 4.8l v8. if you put R100 worth of petrol in it the 1.4l will get u about 200km but the 4.8l v8 will get u 60km this shows u the same amount of fuel(body fat) is burnt up faster by the bigger engine(more muscle mass) than the smaller engine(minimal lean muscle mass). so first things first like inja said drop the fruit as a snack, fruits contain fructose which is a fruit sugar, this can spike insulin and that can lead to fat storage.. second of all up your protein. 2 full eggs and 4 egg whites and half a cup of raw oats for breakfast(cook with water and use sweetner for taste) lunch drop any bread products. have tuna a 1/3 of a cup(raw weight) whole wheat pasta or brown rice or 150g sweet potato. dinner 2 medium size chicken breasts and the same carb as lunch... mid morning have 30g of almonds or cashew nuts and the same between lunch and dinner. this should fuel you enough for the "heavy" running schedule u have. this slight adjustment in your diet should help u feel better as protein helps with hunger and metabolism, the carbs are all low gi which take longer to burn and dont spike insulin that drastically and the fats are all healthy fats.... once a week u need to have a cheat meal in order to break your body's cycle, what i mean by this is go and have your macdonald happy meal etc on a sunday night or what ever u feel like eating in moderation, like i said it will trick the body into realizing that u are no longer dieting and your are getting in crap unhealthy food that will stimulate the metabolism.hope this helps

The diet guru has spoken. Be wise to head his call.

DJ is right, if that's what your eating your metabolism has slowed to the point where its storing calories, not burning them.

P.S.
Where is The Northern One? This would be about the time where he says: "DJ Squirrel Man does personalised diets (for a small fee)". Then people ask, how do I contact the wise and all powerful Squirrel, and he says: "EMAIL ADDRESS REMOVED".

P.P.S.
Nudibranch, you say you have a home gym? What kind of home gym, and what kind of work do you and your "hubbie" do in this cold dark dungeon or pain (optimism never hurt anyone)?
