IFBB drug testing

I competed in a regional IFBB comp yesterday, won my category so I am going to SA’s. They said drug testing will be done as IFBB is part of SASCOC and subject to WADA - of course this is ridiculous since possibly only the beach bikini girls are not on gear. Has anyone had any experience with the form of the IFBB testing (supposedly were going to test at Arnolds, not sure if they did or didn’t).
Unless the testing is to disqualify anyone clean:)

if you think beach bikini girls are going to test clean you are sorely mistaken, the amount of clen and tamoxifen that these girls are taking, even at the beach bikini level is insane.

i know of 3 guys that got tested last year and failed the test and have been served with 5 year bans, and one of them is an IFBB official, the IFBB keeps the testing results very hush hush and you just see these guys go to other federations to compete. Nature of the sport.

you need to check the WADA banned substances list to see what you will get banned for, the list is long!

they usually do a random selection of 2 of the top 5 but have also been known to test the top 5. so there is that.

I'll put my money on testing this year.... heavy testing. So lets see who comes in clean. Especially the bikini girls don't need anything. The amount of diuretics popped is rediculous.

IFBB are losing ground to other federations, this is going to make things worse in my view. There are natural comps and not. IFBB ain’t natural anywhere else in the world.

True, but SASCOC requires testing and if they continue to seek backing testing will also continue. I think at least bikini and athletic physique should be natural. They were designed to be.

For interest sake for those not at IFBB SA's this tear, there has been random testing. Random line selection and the from the lineups competitors had to pull a ball from a hat, only those pulling a yellow ball have been tested. They were required to pee in front of an official. No way around it.

Yup. But the lineup selection was also random e.g. Bikini fitness over 40 was tested but over 35 was not. Those that selected the yellow ball requiring testing had to stay in the testing area with a WADA official until they produced at least 100ml even if it took 2 hours and you had to take on liquid).
