TRT on medical aid was created by Terrebse
Hi guys,

New to the forum and trt life.
Need some advise please.
Is anyone getting there TRT done through a medical aid?
Discovery refuses to pay.
My current doc has me on Nebido but Im burning through it every 6 - 8 weeks.
At R1900 a shot I'm thinking its not worth it anymore.
Choice between going broke or feeling like crap!

Any advise welcome

Hey man,

Good question, and surprised your specialist didn't explain it in full. No medical aid here will cover TRT. I was on Discovery Core Classic when my urologist started me on TRT. He told me straight there is no amount of motivation he can write to the medical aid, they won't cover TRT as chronic medication. He also proposed Nebido but I declined and opted for Testosterone Cypionate. I pin every 4 days, now problems thus far. I'll maybe go on Nebido in the future when I needed it travel for work again, but keeping it as controlled as possible for now.

Before I was on TRT I used Ovidrell for HRT, my medical covered it, but in 5 months my entire year's worth of funds was dried up (R500 per week). HCG is also not considered chronic medication by Discovery though.

Momentum have a much môre comprehensive chronicles medication list (27 conditions if I remember correctly) but I don't remove seeing TRT, let me alone Hormone Replacement Therapy there.

Sorry for the bad news but I hope it helps. Let us know what you get figured out.

The healthcare industry is set up to screw the people who really need it and buy sports cars and luxury houses for doctors and pharmaceutical reps.

If I was in your situation and wanted this treatment I would buy a nebido product (test undecanoate) made by a reputable underground lab for less than a quarter of what you're paying. We so not discuss sources here but can advise you on brands if you have access to an alternative.

Nebido is much more expensive than using test cypionate for TRT. The injections are much more frequent but financially it would make more sense to use T cypionate, plus it is easier to maintain stable blood levels of testosterone.

My medical aid paid for my norditropin pen but it goes out of the savings acc.
I chose to pay for it myself and keep the savings for other medical expenses.

If you a kid with growth problems they may pay. That's pretty much the only way I see them covering it.

I suppose when you recieve HGH treatment that way the HGH would be 100% pharma grade ,that might be the reason for high cost involved?

Just buy your TRT using your UGL source, much easier and you are able to not only save cost but control the amount of TRT you require much better. a Mate of mine compared Nibido to test cyp (150mg/week) and got much better TRT results from the cyp.

I'm also on my own HRT, after unhelpful experiences on the formal medical route. I use Testcyp or Enanthate, with Arimidex and Hcg. In hindsight, I should have taken the decision years ago

Are you running the HCG permanently? What is the perpose of running HCG once you gone on HRT? Purely acthetic?

Rhino, you know more about this than I do mate! but yeah.. I've read a few articles saying that it can be included in TRT, but not all TRT users will lose much testicular mass even without Hcg.. I don't run it permanently. Probably every three months. It would be good to hear what the seniors say about this

Use it when required, which will be very seldom if you using a therapeutic dose of test.
