We openly discuss methods to address the impact of our cycles from a physical angle, and generally there is an expectation that a healthy body equals a happy mind. Which I believe can often disguise the dangers of AAS users becoming lost in a dark and lonely place as a result.

I think there should be a ground rule at the door: basically, you expose yourself to PMS 24/7 once you introduce any exogenous hormones. And be aware that there are dragons just around the corner, rather than on the other side of the horizon like on the flat earth maps. Things can be scary when you take drugs.

I recently lost a close friend to the black dog of depression, and hate myself for not seeing the signs. Please do not keep quiet if you feel shit or down. Share your encounters with the black dog here, so that others will realise it is normal to feel like the world is crumbling for no reason at all :)

my condolences for your friend brother..it's a terrible place to be in and difficult to get through, I recently went through a stage about halfway through my cycle until recently where everyone and everything around me fell apart and relationships fell apart that can't be rebuilt, but having a friend to talk to is probably why I've come this far. Don't be afraid to open up to someone close and just keep pushing forward through each day, keep yourself busy and stop telling yourself negative things,as dark as it might seem now everything works out eventually..things are starting to pick up slowly but surely, I actually wanted to talk about this on another topic but felt it was just me and didn't want to waste anyone's time.

Thanks eidolon for starting this up,I'm sure someone will read something here that will impact their life for the best..

This x100.
I've noticed a lot of depressed people are extremely funny and or sarcastic. They are very good at deflecting - it's almost like a defense mechanism. My best friend was diagnosed with severe depression in 2013 (but he'd probably suffered from it long before) and I've only once seen him truly 'suffer' from it.

Also lost a gym friend through depression. Guy had money, cars, business, body, been on steroids for a long time. Bullet straight under the chin. If you seen him at gym he looks like any other ordinary guy.

Do steroids in general cause depression or the mis use of steroids and messed up pct's cause depression?

A number of factors, mainly don't mess with your hormones if you not in the right frame of mind to begin with.

Most of the time it's people using recreational drugs that actually causes the biggest dip to one's depression, so can alcohol as it's a depressant.

Not timing or using a well structured cycle and waiting out your androgen levels prior to PCT can be an issue too, as well as a badly planned PCT.

Remember there is also side effects to all medication and I personally find that my body doesn't agree with Clomid as it makes me pretty miff, I do PCT's with AI's and not SERMs as I feel better during the PCT phase.

Best thing to do if you feeling down don't mess around contact someone to help balance you as soon as possible. 9 times out of 10 it's not the gear that's the blame it's other external elements, maybe the reason you actually using gear is because you not happy with yourself and enjoy compliments of a shift in body size or shape.. what ever the case is take it slow assess the situation and ask for help. And again, if you not in a good place don't use steroids and specially any other recreational substance as you asking for shit.

Great advice as usual pump.

What can be used as a substitute to clomid?

I was also looking at the possible sides of clomid and will gladly swop it with something else suitable

Good post Pump! Just a comment on the alcohol part- alcohol is a central nervous system depressant, which works quite differently to a depressant as I understand the word. If anything a CNS depressant will help with depression as it will literally make you feel less, especially with anxiety or if you feel extremely depro. Alcohol is also a dopamine agonist! Alcohol however when used in excessive quantities is the evil side of alcohol that we hear of on the news and we all know that friend who ruined his life when he was pissed out of his trolley. My point is one or two drinks will actually help depression, but don't drink a bottle.
