Clomid during cycle

As per title, what is the thinking of using Clomid during cycle. Why only wait for PCT?

Clomid basically stops the negative feedback loop, as I understand, that means you could stop / or slow down the shutdown effect. Your body would continue to produce LH and then Test, while on cycle?

Actually reading up more, since posting this, it seems better to stop Estrogen before converting from Test. So using an AI during a cycle should be better?

By just using clomid, estrogen will still rise, and with it all the side-effects. Using an AI during cycle could stop those negative side effects?

Am I moving in the right direction here?

Doesn't Clomid effect your eyes negatively if used too long?
