Accurate Estrogen Measurement was created by MDMA
In preparation for my first cycle (I have been saying this for a while now....sigh), i went to do baseline blood work for the 2nd time. Last time i did not do estrogen.
At the Pathcare lab, i ask for the sensitive test for estrogen (the LC technique). According to Vergel and Crisler, no other test is acceptable.

Pathcare tells me they only have one test (for males and females) so i dont think this is the sensitive LC test.

Can anyone shed some light on estrogen measurements?
Can the sensitive estrogen test be done locally?

Thank you

I have never heard of a sensitive LC test before.

I got my Estradiol (E2) checked, that was the test which I could see at Lancet.

Curious to hear what others say and how much of a difference it makes (sensitive vs normal).

For some Abs are made with lighting & angles... For others they are made in the kitchen.

It depends on the lab you go to but most pathcare and lancet labs use the same machines from the same suppliers (like Beckman). For endocrinology tests you are not going to get LC method testing because the analyzer machines they use are very accurate, do a ridiculous amount of different tests, and are super fast. You really do not need LC test to check your estrodiol because you do not need 99.5% accuracy.

This is what the Pathcare in Claremont uses.

I also recently had the "E2" & Testosterone bloodwork at Pathcare - and the result appeared a bit vague: "E2 < 75". Muscleaddict's explanation as I understand it, is that E2 must be seen in relation to your Test levels, as a ratio, not meaningful in itself.

I later took these results to an endocrinologist, who informed me that with Free Test of 440, and E2 of <75, I am within 'normal parameters'.. Suggest you post your bloodwork results here - the insight of the senior members is invaluable

Oestradiol (E2):

Result = 139
Reference = 75 -175 pmol/L
That's my E2 baseline.

My T measurements:
Total T = 19.16 (9.9 - 27.8 nmol/L)
SHBG = 39.3 (14.5 - 48.4 nmol/L)
Free T = 367.2 (174 - 729 pmol/L)
