Diabetes and Anabolic Steroids was created by angeliquec
Hi,

My dad has recently been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and is considering a course of steriods to help him gain the weight he has lost in the last couple of months.

He has taken steroids throughout his life and is very active i.e. works out every day.

Is it safe for him to take a course of steriods with his conditions.

If not, what are the dangers? (He might need some convincing)

Doctari would probably have the best answer here,, but to my knowledge there should be no problems with taking steroids with diabetes. I have friends who have diabetes who use steroids.

If it's not working,,, take double,,,

Where about are you from?
Maybe he should just give me a call - too many things about his health to discuss here.
Many factors to take into consideration. Contact Admin - he has my permission to give you my number in this case. Let's rather talk at a convenient time.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I will definitely get my dad to give Doctari a call.

I'm based in Johannesburg, I found the site via the usual suspects - google.

I will let you know what the feedback is.

Diabteses is a funny thing and people react very differently depending on how chronic their condition is and how the liver plays its part too. To be honest I wouldnt see a probel with it however I would test sugars much more often, I would rather go to bed slightly high at night and if you taking long term at night discuss with your doctor to switch it to the day. I would run a very low dose test prop only cycle and see how your body reacts. You might find no change, however I dont know how well you control your readings. Play it safe, rather over test and take less units more times during the day and like I said run slightly higher until you see how foods effect you. Maybe you find it doesnt even effect your readings. But just in case keep a glucose pen on hand an inform your friends to monitor you. They will know when you running low :)

Have you had any bad lows this year?
