What exactly is the level of drug testing at competitive south african bodybuilding events? Does it change with the level of competition? Does it change between federations? Is it set to change for 2010?
Thanks

But, at the Fame contest that was held begin October, there was some testing involved, not too strict, but if you look juiced, they test you and you're out, spoke to a competitor in the Muscle Model class.

Natural and "enhanced" BBers should compete separately, they can't force the "enhanced" class (as its been all along) into being tested all of a sudden.

Body building as a sport will never be main stream so why screw with the couple of guys that pursue it as a passion and for the pure love of the sport.

Why test in the 1st place as we all know all competitors juice?? This is so strange, seeing as this is a sport based on aesthetics etc. This is just another stunt to make the federations seem more legit with the other sporting federations and with WADA. Bull I tell you...my 2c
FAME is supposed to be a natural comp so they test. they test for _everything_ and though I know many juice...
IFBB has done random drug screening. And they have a natural section where you have to weigh in between X and Y based on height, etc... That is tested as well, and its fair as a police friend of mine competes in that section and is clean, so it would be unfair for him and others if they never conducted tests.

Ah, I see now, so the heads in the IFBB are actually involved in the selling of these SARMs...

So if they already conduct random testing from time to time what is changing going into 2010? Frequency? Adherance to rules?

Does it change with the level of competition?
Does it change between federations?
Is the level of drug testing different between federations or pushed more in certain classes at competition?

then ifbb worlds do test ask shameen he got 3 DQ...
as for local testing in ifbb,if ur unknown ul be DQ but if you have a name with the federation they will let it go im almost cetain of this coz how are you going to DQ the top 6 in every category at nationals...and to be fair they have to test all top 6..!!!
if this is going to happen then condition is going to be very shit on stage for the years ahead and guys will opt to enter the other federations shows coz they know they will be in the clear....
so untill sarm's is main stream here,we have a bit of a problem i think...
even if we get sarm's there is just some stuff we cant without before a show in my opinion like stanazolol,clen...
clen is out quick but stan is orally supose to be 3 weeks who can stop stan 3 weeks out and stay hard for 2 shows over say a spread of 5/6 weeks.
what about clomid and nolva and proviron in the last stages of a proper cycle coz by wada thats also banned...
we dont have money for GH as our sole product what will we do???
think this is an very nice topic and alot of us can learn off this for next year as to what the doping controls is going to be like...ive been around many sports pro's over the years and they all find ways around the doping controls from rugby, boxing and mostly cycling.
but they dont need half of half of half what a good conditiond guy on stage needs to prep with in order to stand there to his full potential....
im getting sarm's ASAP to try it out and see how it compares to real AAS....
Will also be helpfull if one of the more cleud up members can get us the latest detection times for all steroids as over the years now testing must have improved cutting into our windows of detection...!!

thats like saying they must test all top 6 placed Olympic runners, they don't ... they take the winner, knock him give second place, even though second place is also on some or other performance supplement, evidence to this 'Bigger, Stronger Faster' FAME I know 100000% tests as a few of my friends enter it...
But I do agree with you that could / do turn a blind eye to some of the faces they know, hence my friend is NABBA and IFBB champ and was only tested many years back...

ummm at the end of the day, they are going to test the top 6 of every line up,5-6 line ups in a night at a cost of ummmm R2000 per test. thats looking at 60k... the whole ifbb isnt worth that in this country...they need to rethink that...
lol...
so then at worst it will be a random selection of a few guys?
