Bread as part of your diet was created by Pyroclasm
I like to eat LOW GI 100% Whole Wheat bread as a source of carbs. Many dieticians and trainers for example Kris Gethin from Bodybuilding.com also use it in their diets. However according to DJ this is not a good source of carbs. Can anybody offer some insight on this matter?

as far as i know, bread is processed, made from wheat, flour etc etc. so in terms of clean bulking, it cant be that good. but if you using it for 'dirty bulking' then i suppose its ok...

pain is just temporary...

If working on body and character doesnt cost you something its woth noting. If criticism is all that proceed out of your mouth then know that is how you feel about yourself and depicts the health of your soul.

gab wrote: low gi bread is still pretty much high gi. not much difference between low gi and normal bread. if you have to rather get righ bread. but still not a good carb. bread gives you a fast insulin(sugar) spike and you will feel tired short after.

look,i dont like bread in the terms of guys having sand wiches for a meal, as they laden them with butter, mayo and all sorts of other sauces to get it down adding highly to your calorie intake, also guys have close on 4-6 slices which drives your carb intake through the roof, now as part of a cutting diet i would try and steer clear of it and i do use bread with guys doing lean bulking, but not from the on set, also alot of the time guys feel bloated when eating bread,i for one get a very bloated gut eating bread from either white, brown, rye or wholewheat so thats another reason i dont always use it... but koe had toast in his off season plan, eggs on toast each breakfast.

also i would like to mention that i do add in all sorts of things with guys that i dont usually add in,its all based on your body, guys like koe had pasta and mince and toast and scrambled egg after 6 months of working with me as i tried it out too see if his body handled it,and it did. bread and pasta can be a good carb source, not my first choice when it comes to carbs unless someone's body can handle the processed carbs. look there is nothing set in stone when comes to dieting,i just prefer to use cleaner sources of carbs personally.

now that is why u didnt get lean untill you cut it out, once again, not my first choice of calories, but when you are over consuming something those calories add up. i bet if you went back your old diet and only had 1 glass of milk a day you would get lean, its the case of the liters and over consumption thats caused your fat loss to be slow.

personally if you gave me 1L of milk and say 50g whey and 100g of oats as a choice of calories, i would go oats and whey as i like to eat my calories, also lower gi,good source of fiber and you wont be hungry after that.

well for me the sacrifice is worth it. its tough at times but when i look in the mirror and see results i forget about all that crap!!

even now when i see people stuffing their face with hamburgers and slap tjips i think to myself "how could i ever do that to my body"

since ive started dieting strictly my whole mindset has changed, and i wouldnt go back to the old me no matter what!

its all worth it!!!1

nope, its not, as a lifestyle change then no by all means go for it,contains casein so its a slow digesting protein, rather go for greek yoghurt maybe as it does seem to have a lower carb content if i remember correctly. if you are trying to get as lean as possible in the shortest time possible then i would stay away from it.

now there you go, i bet you right now one day when you decide to binge and crack, after a bout an hour or two of eating shit, you feel like crap!! so treat these things as a reward, moderation, its also gotta do with your goals, if you are wanting the quickest results(cos everyone hates dieting!) then sometimes its good to sacrifice these "treats" for 6.5days a week and then treat yourself for an hour a week, only an hour as you dont want to get to bent out of shape and piss your work away from the whole week...

i have done alot of work with guys and now i am trying to see what they are looking for, more of a lifestyle change vs a strict hardcore regime to get the best and fastest results possible. i mean take guys like vond's dad,i am going to be doing a plan for him to get into reasonable shape as a life style change, i doubt he wants to be ripped and shredded so i am just going to do a standard 6 meal a day plan for him balancing out his calories and food source. but then you get guys like koe who want to pack on massive muscle,so i do a plan for him with his goal in mind, pre and post work out nutrition, training to the maximum, steroid use for a goal, and thats what you gotta look at, if you want to compete or look the best u can then u need to be strict, only 1 cheat meal a week, if you are doing it for a lifestyle transformation,a cheat meal a week and then maybe falling off once or twice in the week isnt gonna hurt,BUT that being said, when you really want to go the extra mile you can look at swapping out bread for potatos, milk for water etc etc etc.

yeah ill be really anal about what i eat everyday, but on a sunday evening when im having my cheat meal ill reward myself with a half a glass of milk (no vanilla sugar) :)

i can honestly say if i ate something im not supposed to on an average day i would be gutted with myself!! id feel sick to my stomach.

ive become a lot stronger both physically and mentally

have another one for that Mindset change.
I told DJ the same thingf I took last week off training and Diet, by Tuesday last week I was feeling ill with the junk food and had to go back on diet. I feel lethargic, lazy, bloated and physically ill if I cheat more than a half day.

Same here bud, if I think how I changed the last year due to training and diet I am really really happy. Just remember when eating something you should not you might enjoy thes taste, but there is no better taste than looking good.
